Our People

Sarah Hiles, Manager

Sarah Hiles, The Snug Beauty and Wellbeing SalonI was 19 when alongside studying for a degree at Brunel university I worked as a receptionist at a busy salon in Twickenham, Middlesex. It was a calm and nurturing environment with a real focus on health and well-being which at the time helped me in my personal life. It was a real turning point for me and the first job that I wholeheartedly enjoyed.

On completion of my degree, I returned to my home town of Leicester and attended Leicester College, I qualified as a beauty therapist level 2, Indian head massage and Aromatherapy in Summer 2000. My first job was at Tonic Natural Bodycare In Stoneygate Leicester, the business was in its second year of trading, I was 24, enthusiastic and wanted to succeed in my newfound role, my ongoing training, experience and reputation allowed me to flourish. I was able to create a thriving clientele for the salon and I’m happy to say some of my clients still return to me now all these years later.

I left Tonic in 2005 and embarked on a professional mobile business, Alongside this I completed my NVQ level 3 in Beauty Therapy at Stephenson College in 2007, putting me at the height of my field and whereby I gained the Dermalogica Student of the year award.

I had always hoped that one day I would open my own salon but timing and location was key, in September 2011 I opened The Snug Beauty and Well-being Salon. I am a hardworking, passionate individual who is meticulous about maintaining standards and offering quality treatments in a traditional beauty and holistic salon.

2005 - Thalgo Therapist of the Year Nominee
2007 - Dermalogica Student of the year award

Olivia (Liv)

Olivia, The Snug Beauty and Wellbeing SalonI originally started out in hairdressing but soon discovered my personality and character would be better suited within the health, care and beauty industry, I started at The Snug as an apprentice in 2012 and worked closely alongside Sarah ever since, growing with the business and as a professional along the way...

I completed my level 3 qualification in 2014 and reached senior level in 2015, My determination and passion allowed me to build a strong following of clients and continue to do so, now I am a mum and currently work at the Salon part time, and definitely enjoy what work and family have to offer.

Karen

Karen, The Snug Beauty and Wellbeing SalonI have been working at this lovely, friendly and local salon, The Snug Beauty and Wellbeing Salon, since July 2017, first on a full time basis covering for Olivia’s maternity leave and then on a permanent part time basis.

Following a career in hotels and hospitality, I lived in many countries including 12 years in Kenya, I embarked on my journey into beauty therapy in 2002.

Graduating from Leicester College as Student of the year I went on to start my own businesses in Spain. These were The Day Spa @ Desert Springs, based at an exclusive golf and family holiday resort, and Beauty and the Beach, Majorca.

After 10 years of developing the Day Spa in Spain to its full potential I decided to return to my home town of Leicester. In Leicester I have worked for Guerlain (fragrance, skincare and makeup brand) as account manager and as a massage and facial therapist at the Clarins Spa in John Lewis Leicester. I have also trained with Elemis, Neal’s Yard Remedies and latterly Biodroga and Thalgo.

Being experienced and competent in my beauty treatments spanning over a career of over 15 years I have a particular passion for natural products. I have a real yearning of job satisfaction from helping people who present with particular stresses, strains and skincare issues. I have found my home here working as part of a team again and enjoy that The Snug is recognised professionally and personally by all its customers loyal and new...

Preena

Preena, The Snug Beauty and Wellbeing SalonMy interest started when I was about 10 years old, I was mesmerised by makeup and beauty. I used to watch my mum do make up, which influenced me greatly and I soon found it became a hobby.

After I finished secondary school I went to college and studied Beauty Therapy for 2 years, in my second year of college I took on another nail course and also found myself a Beauty Therapy role at Ardencote Manor. When I finished college, I studied International Spa management and business at Birmingham University.

I continued at Ardencote manor part-time during my studies. I finished my degree and graduated, after 5 years at Ardencote, I wanted to look for something different and that’s how I ended up at The Snug Beauty & Wellbeing Salon. I love my job but I find that I love it more with the amazing people I work with.
